    Step 1Lead-in
    Lead in by discussing the following questions:
    What did many scientists do in the 1700s?
    When was the first railway born?
    What is the speed of today’s trains?
    Show some pictures of different trains Let the students discuss the questions in groupsThen present their results in front of the classThe styles are differentThey can be dialogues or reports

    Step 2Listening
    Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks with the words you hear

    Finish the task in class in oral
    Step 3Reading
    Read the passage and answer the following questions:

    Finish the task in class in oral
    Step 4Practice
